Hey there.

How are you copulative from the Monitor to the PC?

Usually;
You bequeath call for a video cablegram (DVI or VGA)
But you will ALSO need a 3.5mm line in cable from the PC to the monitor to carry the sound. (these are smallish cables usually with Green River ends)

Unless you're using HDMI, in which case it transfers sound and video.

If you'Re using HDMI you'll postulate to go into the sound area of control control board and take a leak sure the monitor is solidification as the default twist

Is the release that the monitor speakers are no working, or that the sound card is not? You put on't motive drivers to use the ride herd on.

Act up you get sound from the built-in speaker if there is same, or other speakers/headphones?

I had the aforesaid problem. I did an online confabulation with Asus and the bottom line is that you must have Windows 8 to be able to incumbrance the drivers and use the speakers. I feature Windows 7. Took the monitor back to the hive away, where the gross sales faculty was completely uninformed.

AMD ATHLONllx4 630 processor,MSI KA78G MOTHER BRD,Realtek HD audio out,ATI radeon HD3200 graphics,win xp home SP3

Go to the Control Impanel/Hardware and Sound and finally the Fit panel. If you have got HDMI Audio, there will beryllium an picture for this. Set this as the default playback device and that should get you HDMI Sound.

I know this is an old thread, but in case anyone stumbles on that (it's the prototypical link on Google)....You have to turn up the book on the monitor itself (look for the loudspeaker symbol above the buttons). Asus has the volume each the way down by default. Sometimes it's the simple things...

I know this is an old thread, but in case anyone stumbles along it (it's the first-year liaison on Google)....You have to fold up the volume on the varan itself (see for the speaker symbol above the buttons). Asus has the intensity all the way down by nonpayment. Sometimes it's the simple things...

My book was already ahead but I still give birth no more sound.

Try going to playback devices and letter-perfect clicking any of the options and fall into place on usher disabled devices. u might have information technology disabled.

Not sure if this is still a live thread, but I'd to save some time for who might have similar problems.

I believe this is the problem when you connect to the monitor with HDMI/DVI, it will overturn line in sound input. I assume the line in will work when you connect video via VGA, simply I haven't try and confirm it.

I found this successful kettle of fish: https://panjandrum.asus.com/meeting place/view.aspx?id=20130117190307616&board_id=13&adenylic acid;worthy=MX239H&adenylic acid;page=1&SLanguage=nut-us

IT is a reversible pinch in the microcode of MX239H and the exploiter claims success. I am gonna try that on my MX259H.

The trouble is the drivers for the video card ....
I have the HD5450 with the old drivers worked through 3.5mm ...
With the new number one wood only deeds via AMD HDMI turnout ... though it transmits images via a DVI cable system to DHMI converter ....
asus vx229h monitor...

I have come to a situation that we aforementioned that AMD HDMI output occupied by some applications ...
The solution ...
I installed the latest drivers for AMD graphics ...
Then uninstall the AMD HDMI audio driver.
I installed an older version AMD HDMI audio manually specifying older drivers 7.12.0.7706 from 2012 years.
In order to keep functions of the Raltek countertenor definition audio frequency, I did the following:
enable biaural mix
the options selected past the stereo desegregate listen to this device
playback throught amd HDMI output
90 levels ... nonobligatory.
Now I have a fastidious strength for AMD HDMI output and home audio ....
I do not need a 3.5mm cable to monitoring device ..

Hey on that point.

How are you connecting from the Monitor to the PC?

Usually;
You leave need a TV cable (DVI or VGA)
But you will ALSO need a 3.5mm line in cable from the PC to the monitor lizard to dribble the sound. (these are small cables usually with green ends)

Unless you're victimization HDMI, in which case it transfers sound and video.

If you're using HDMI you'll need to go in the sound orbit of control panel and make sure the supervise is set As the default device

Resolution by beefybish is incisively the right account me. I got a new ASUS 279 LED admonisher and related to by HDMI. Nary sound until I read answer by beefybish. Actually I guess IT has nothing to do with ASUS monitor? It's an HDMI thing. Anyway, thanks very practically. Solved my problem immediately.

Uninstall monitor driver, re-start, then reinstall driver from Gimmick Managing director. It Nvidia High Definition Audio driver and information technology should be automatic pistol done HDMI.
